Share Article

Alright, let’s get one thing straight – menopause is not a disease, and it’s definitely not a curse! It’s like nature’s way of saying, “Hey, you’ve been rocking those menstrual cycles for a while now, time to take a bow!” Menopause is all about gracefully transitioning to the next stage of womanhood. It’s like a grand symphony of life, where your ovaries play the last notes of their hormonal masterpiece.

What is menopause?

Menopause is a point in time 12 months after a woman’s last period. The official menopause comes when an entire year passed without any menstrual bleeding. Just as puberty sets its course in a somewhat predictable manner, menopause follows a similar path. Typically occurring between the ages of 40 and 58 years, menopause arrives at different times for each woman. It’s often in sync with the experiences of their mothers and sisters, like a beautiful dance of life’s rhythm. Natural menopause is a result of the gradual depletion of egg cells (follicles) over time. This decline in follicles leads to a reduction in estrogen, the primary female sex hormone. As menopause approaches, the ovaries exhaust their follicle supply, causing estrogen levels to plummet to pre-puberty levels, ultimately bringing an end to menstrual bleeding. Induced menopause happens when menstrual periods stop due to various treatments and interventions that are used to take care of certain health issues. It could be because of surgical removal of the ovaries, damage caused by chemotherapy or radiation to the ovaries, or the use of specific medications intentionally to induce menopause.

Embracing the New Chapter

As we navigate this enchanting passage, it’s crucial to embrace the changes with grace and self-compassion. Menopause brings with it the gift of wisdom, the freedom to explore new horizons, and the chance to focus on self-care like never before.
